The two color woodblock print with watercolor has intentional cuts for a pop-up feature, cleverly using the craft of paper to mimic dry anchovies. One of Vietnam’s most important fish, it is the main ingredient in nước mắm, the infamous fish sauce. Printed on dó paper, a traditional Vietnamese handmade paper brought back from a 2023 summer visit to the motherland.
The 6x6 wood frame is custom made by Signed & Numbered in Salt Lake City, Utah with support by 108 Contemporary's Shop Featured Artist April + May 2024.
